Abita Motors

Hi everyone. New to the forum. I'm looking at a Sea Ray on the abitamotors.com website. The price seems almost too good. I've heard repo auctions can be risky. Is Abita Motors a legitimate company? A bit nervous about sending a big wire transfer without seeing the boat in person. Any feedback is appreciated.

Welcome! You can relax. I bought a 2021 Mustang GT from Abita Motors last year. Process was smooth as silk. The biggest relief for me was the title. The clear title arrived with the car, all handled by them. No chasing paperwork. They're one of the good ones.

Seconding this. Got a Tacoma from them for a great price. Condition report was spot on. Paid the bank, and a week later the truck was in my driveway. The abitamotors platform is pretty easy to navigate too.

My experience was mostly positive. The only thing was my initial email to office@abitamotors.com took about a day and a half to get a reply which made me a little nervous. But once they replied they were very helpful and the car (a Honda CR-V) is great. Just a heads up that email might be a bit slow.

@jess_w_91 That's pretty standard for these places, they get swamped. Pro tip: calling them is always faster if you have an urgent question. I've found AbitaMotors to be way more responsive than other auctions I've tried. The deals are worth the minor communication lag imo.

We bought a Fleetwood Bounder RV through Abita Motors and it was a fantastic experience. We were most worried about the title transfer process, but it was completely painless. As soon as our payment cleared, they initiated the process and the clean title was delivered by FedEx even before the RV arrived. Highly recommend them.

My neighbor won a BMW 3-series from abitamotors.com and had me look it over when it arrived. I was impressed. The photos and description were honest. No hidden rust or mechanical issues they hadn't disclosed. It was a solid car. They seem to run a tight ship.

Happy with my purchase, got a Subaru Outback. The only minor issue was that the delivery tracker said Tuesday but it arrived on Thursday. The delivery company called to let me know, so it wasn't a huge deal, just made for a long couple of days waiting lol. The car itself is perfect.

@BoatDreamer7 My advice for bidding on Abita Motors is to do your research on the vehicle's market value, decide your absolute max, and put in that proxy bid. Don't sit there and get into a bidding war at the last second. Let the system do the work. It's how I've scored two trucks and a pontoon boat for way under retail.

Just wanted to add my +1 for AbitaMotors. Got an ES350 that looked brand new. Saved at least 7k compared to a dealer. No drama.

yeah they're legit. my brother and i both bought cars from them. solid deals.

It's a great place for project cars too. I got a classic Camaro that needed some work. The Abita Motors listing was very clear about what it needed and the price was unbeatable. Gave me a great starting point for my build.

Just make sure to factor in the shipping costs, they're separate from the auction price. The calculator on the abitamotors.com site was pretty accurate for me though. Good luck with the boat!

Wow, thank you all for the detailed replies! This is incredibly helpful. Reading about the positive experiences, especially with the title process, has really put my mind at ease. The minor issues mentioned sound like normal stuff for any big transaction. I feel much more confident about abitamotors.com now. Going to put my bid in on that Sea Ray!
